2011-2012 years special for Kazakh-Lithuanian relations - Evaldas Ignatavicius
ASTANA. June 22. KAZINFORM Festivities devoted to the 20th anniversary of Kazakh- Lithuanian diplomatic relations were held Thursday at the Kazakh Embassy in Lithuania, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported. Within the festivities were organized concerts of the famous Kazakh pianist A. Tebenikhin and Lithuanian St. Christopher Chamber orchestra.
They were attended by deputies of the Seimas (parliament) of Lithuania, chairmen of parliamentary committees, government officials, prominent politicians and public figures, representatives of business circles, diplomatic corps, media, the Kazakh Diaspora in Lithuania.
Kazakh Ambassador to Lithuania Galymzhan Koyshybayev stressed the Kazakh-Lithuanian progress for the 20 years of the diplomatic relations.
Successful chairmanship of the two countries in the OSCE, interaction in the transit-transport sphere, successful launch of "Saule" container train under the patronage of the two presidents, establishment of Kazakh-Lithuanian Business Council and active cooperation in the sphere of education, medicine and culture speak for the effective bilateral cooperation.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Evaldas Ignatavicius noted that last and current years are special for the Kazakh-Lithuanian relations: in 2011 we celebrated 20 years since our countries recognized independence of each other; this year we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic relations establishment. "Our countries have passed a long way, developing the political, economic and cultural ties. High-level dialogue between our countries has formed a solid foundation for mutual cooperation, " E. Ignatavicius added.
