2010 year - Kazakhstan's successful year - Almaty Mayor
ALMATY. February 9. KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ The year of 2010 was a successful one and full of significant events for the country. Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov said it at the meeting with city residents in Almaty.
According to him the presidency of Kazakhstan in the OSCE and the Summit of this Organization held in Astana even promoted the image of the country in the world.
'The Customs Union between Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus was established last year. The trade rates with these countries have increased by 38 percent. Besides, the year was full of preparations for the 7th Asian Winter Games that were recently held in our country and turned out to be a success for us', the Mayor noted.
More than 1500 people attended the meeting with representatives of Administration of the President of Kazakhstan, Maslikhat deputies and representatives of the Almaty akimat.
