These numbers were voiced at the all-national teleconference with participation of Kazakhstan President. Investments will be mainly budgeted into the oil and gas projects in the region, for instance North-Caspian project. At present Bolashak integrated oil and gas treatment unit is being constructed in the region. This facility will perform final treatment of oil and gas from the offshore fields. Oil and gas of export quality will be shipped via the export pipeline network of Kazakhstan.

Tengizchevroil is planning to start the construction of the third generation plant amounting to USD 14 billion. Once the plant is launched, oil production in the Tengiz field will be increased up to 40 million tons per year.

Kazakhstan's first integrated gas chemical plant is going to be built in the region. The cost of the plant is USD 6 billion. The capacity will be 1,200 000 tons of polyethylene and polypropylene per year. About 100 new production facilities will be built around the gas chemical plant to manufacture a variety of items using polyethylene and polypropylene.

As per the preliminary estimates, production of about 300 thousand items will be ensured after successful start-up of the new gas chemical facility  .

Also, the Atyrau oil-and-gas refinery is going to be reconstructed to the amount of USD 800 million. Modernization of the oldest refinery of Kazakhstan will allow increasing its capacity up to 5 million tons per year. As a result the products released would comply with the top international standards. The output would fully supply the need of the region for high-octane benzene, and their import from abroad will no longer be necessary.
