20 people died, 10 injured in shuttle bus-petrol tanker collision
ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 25. KAZINFORM According to the latest reports, some 19 people died instantly and another one died at the hospital as a result of the collision of a shuttle bus and a petrol tanker in the Rostov region, a source in the southern regional emergencies centre said on Friday, Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
"But rescuers said this figure may be not final," Itar-Tass learnt at the road accident site. "The shuttle bus Ikarus was carrying up to 45 people," a source in the regional law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass.
The road accident occurred on the straight section of the road in dry and fair weather with a good visibility. The petrol tanker obviously was driving on the opposite lane. No fire has broken out.
The shuttle bus was driving on the Caucasus federal highway from Rostov-on-Don to Krasnodar. The road accident occurred at Samarskoye in the Azov district of the Rostov region, about 40 kilometres southeast of Rostov-on-Don.
