2 bodies recovered from collapsed house in Karaganda region identified
Two people who died as a gas cylinder exploded in a two-storey residential building in the village of Botakara in Karaganda region were identified as Tolegen Rakhmetov, 1973, and his wife Alma Rakhmetova, 1974, the parents of police officer Dauren Tursynbekov.
The police department of the region extended sincere condolences for the loss of his father and mother.
As earlier reported, the bodies of two people were recovered from the rubble of a collapsed residential building in Karaganda region. Five people were rushed to a hospital with traumas.
According to the preliminary data, a gas cylinder exploded in a two-story 12-apartment residential building located on 8a Auezov street in Botakara village of Bukharzhyrau district. The explosion occurred on the second floor of the building, which led to full collapse of roof and partial destruction of apartments on both floors.
35 people were in the building at the time of the accident.
From 00:11 am to 03:37 am, bodies of two people were pulled out from the rubble and five more (including three children) were rescued. The survivors were sent to the Bukharzhyrau District Hospital with various traumas. The others were evacuated safely, the emergencies department said.
