17yo Zhanat Sain wins title of World Chess champion
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A 17-year-old Zhanat Sain has become the absolute winner of the World Chess Championship among juniors which was held in Thailand.
World Chess Championship in Pattaya was carried out in different age categories. As a result of team scoring Kazakhstani chess players have received 10 medals winning the 4th place. In general, Kazakhstan's team has grabbed five bronze, three silver and two gold medals. Thus, the bronze medals went to Samal Abduali (under 13), Arystanbek Urazayev (up to 17), Altynai Kuzhamkul (up to 7), Kazybek Nogerbek (up to 11) and Nazerke Nurgali (under 11). Silver medals were won by Amina Kayrbekova, Ansat Aldiyar (up to 7), Deniza Kurmanalina (up to 7). Zhanat Sain (up to 17), Amina Kairbekova (up to 9) have become gold medalists.
