16 Hamas members arrested in West Bank

BETHLEHEM. August 8. KAZINFORM The Hamas movement on Friday said that Palestinian Authority's security forces have arrested 16 of its members and supporters in the West Bank, Kazinform refers to Arab News.
Hamas said in a press statement that the detainees included Imams, university students and Palestinian prisoners recently released from Israeli jails.
The movement added that the detentions were made in the cities of Ramallah, Qalqilyah, Hebron and Toubas, which are controlled by President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement.
The arrests came three days after Fatah held in the West Bank city of Bethlehem its first convention in 20 years, Kazinform cites Arab News. See www.arabnews.com for full version.
