12 Kazakh universities joined Great Charter of Universities

ASTANA. September 23. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ "The principals of 12 higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan signed the Great Charter of Universities", Deputy Director of the department of higher and postgraduate education of the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science Gulzada Mukhtarova has said today at the briefing.

"The XXI International conference of the Great Charter of Universities was held on September 17-18 this year in the University of Bologna", G.Mukhtarova said.

She noted that signing of the Great Charter by rectors of 35 higher educational institutions from 15 countries, including 12 Kazakh universities has been held within the conference as well. "The Kazakh delegation was the largest one", she added.

The Great Charter of Universities was signed in 1988 in Bologna. To date 662 universities from over 100 states have joined the Charter.
