1130 sportsmen from 25 countries confirmed their participation in Asian Winter Games
ASTANA. December 8. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandalulova/ According to the latest data 1130 sportsmen and 543 officials are expected to come to Kazakhstan to represent their countries at Asian Games.
In total 25 countries applied for participating in the Games, the press service of the Organizing Committee of the Asian Games informs.
The 7th Asian Winter Games will be held from January 30 to February 6 in Astana and Almaty cities.
Besides, it was made public that opening ceremony of the Games is to be held on January 30 in Astana at 'Astana-Arena' stadium.
Sportsmen will compete in 11 sports such as skating, figure skating, ice hockey, bandy, skiing, biathlon, ski jumping, cross-country skiing, freestyle, short-track and winter ski orienteering.
169 sportsmen will represent the hosting country - Kazakhstan.
Around 2000 volunteers will be involved during the Games.
