As Konarbay Bazarbayev, the acting head of the Fish Inspection Department of the Mangistau region, explained, a team has been dispatched to the area where the seals were discovered.

"Representatives from the oil fields gathered 11 seals. Our specialists have already arrived at the Karazhanbas oil field. The seals will be taken to the Fort-Shevchenko coastline for release into the open sea," said Konarbay Bazarbayev.

The decision to release the seals into open waters was made due to the fact that coastal zone near the oil fields is still covered in ice. Specialists also plan to inspect the areas where the seals were discovered.

As reported earlier, 1,115 carcasses of dead seals were found on the Caspian Sea shores in Tupkaragan district of the Mangistau region from October 24 to November 18.
