100 couples wed in Las Vegas on ‘luckiest day of the year'
PARIS. KAZINFORM The stars aligned for about a hundred couples in Las Vegas over the weekend, who exchanged or renewed vows on the last sequential date of the 21st century: 12/13/2014.
At 10:11 am and 12:13 pm on Saturday, couples from across the US climbed aboard the world's tallest observation wheel, the High Roller in Sin City, seeking a bit of cosmic blessing to their love. Complimentary weddings and vow renewals allowed couples to wed at 550 feet (168 m) in the air, with guests and officiators that included Elvis impersonators. "Today is an iconic date and this way I won't have an excuse to forget our anniversary," said groom Clay Giffin. The event also served to promote the launch of the High Roller's new "quickie" 30-minute Las Vegas wedding packages that include the rental of a cabin for a full revolution and 90-minute photo sessions, Relaxnews reports. Prices for the High Roller wedding package start at $2,145 USD. The next sequential date in the US will occur 89 years from now: January 2, 2103.
