100 billion tenge to be invested in airports’ infrastructure development

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - About 99 billion tenge will be invested in the infrastructure of Kazakhstan's airports in the period from 2015 to 2017, this has been announced at today's briefing themed "Public airports network development, as part of the President's Address Nurly Zhol - The path to the Future", which was held in the office of Central Communications Service.

"Large-scale projects for the reconstruction of the runways and passenger terminals will be implemented in 2015-2017. In particular, it is planned to build a new passenger terminal of the International Airport of Astana city. The existing terminal will be used for domestic flights only. The runway, the apron and the parking place will be reconstructed too. Kyzylorda and Shymkent airports will be modernized as well," said General Director of the management company "Airport Management Group" Claude Badan. According to his words, air terminals of the cities of Petropavlovsk and Kostanay will be reconstructed too. It should be noted that the above mentioned airports are in trust property owned by Airport Management Group.
