10 hospitalized with suspected Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever

SHYMKENT. KAZINFORM - Ten residents of Kazygurt district of South Kazakhstan region are under medical supervision due to suspected Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever.

According to the spokesman of South Kazakhstan regional Emergency Department Nurlan Temirbayev, a 31-year-old woman was taken to a district hospital with suspected Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever. "In addition, 9 more people, who contacted the woman, were hospitalized too. At the moment the woman is in intensive care, doctors say that she is in critical but stable condition", said Nurlan Temirbayev. That is the first case of hospitalization in 2014 due to suspected Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever. Emergency Department employees plan to hold meetings and inform the population about the first signs of the disease.
