1 killed, 26 injured in traffic accident in Japan's Fukushima Prefecture
A traffic accident involving three vehicles killed one and injured 26 in Japan's Fukushima Prefecture on Wednesday, Qazinform News Agency learned from Xinhua.
According to local media, the accident occurred at around 7:00 am, when a minibus carrying over 10 high school students smashed into roadside crash cushions on the Banetsu Expressway, causing a chain-reaction crash, which involved two other vehicles. A male student died as a result of the tragedy.
26 people, including high school students on the minibus and occupants of other vehicles, were injured. Some of them are in a serious condition, police and firefighters said.
The details and cause of the accident are being investigated.
Earlier, it was reported that two people had been killed and several others injured after a car drove into a crowd in central Leipzig, Germany.
