1 killed, 1 injured in hit-and-run in Almaty region

According to the police, the incident occurred on the evening of November 19 in the village of Koksai, Karasai district. A driver of an unidentified car hit two men and fled the accident scene. This was reported by the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of Almaty region. One of the pedestrians died at the scene, the second, with serious injuries, was taken to the hospital of Kaskelen. The police conducted a voluminous work to apprehend the suspect. Police found small shards of a sidelight. Thus, investigators established the brand of the car; it was "Mitsubishi RVR", 1992-1994 year of manufacture. After checking out the special base, police have detained the owner of the vehicle. The man was put into a temporary detention center. The investigation is underway.
