1, 363 killed and 6, 889 injured in road accidents in Jan-Jul 2010 countrywide

ASTANA. August 11. KAZINFORM 5, 903 road accidents were recorded in January-July 2010 countrywide . 1, 363 people died in them and 6, 889 people were injured.
In comparison with the same period in 2009 the number of accidents in 2010 reduced by 5% (-313), the number of dead reduced by 1.7% (-23) and injuries - by 5.4% (-395), Kazinform has learnt from the Road Police Committee of the Internal Affairs Ministry.
However, despite the reduction of main parameters of accidence, the situation with ensuring road security remains complicated.
Since the year beginning the policemen recorded 14 large road accidents which killed 94 people and injured 53 ones.
