Sorbonne University will open in Almaty

Memorandum of opening French university has been signed today by two heads of universities - the president of the University of Sorbonne (Paris) Jean-Francois Girard and the rector of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University Serik Praliyev.

"In 2013-14 we will present a group of lecturers who will begin to work in January. Admission of students will take place in October, 2014, but this academic year will hold a series of lectures by French teachers and professors", said Jean-Francois Girard after the signing ceremony.

The parties expect that the Kazakhstan-Sorbonne University will attract students not only from Kazakhstan but from the neighboring Central Asian republics.
