All polling stations in Kazakhstan begin their work

The Kazakh CEC held a press conference on the opening of polling stations of the nationwide referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Member of the CEC Konstantin Petrov said as of 07:00 am October 6, 2024, all 10,249 polling places opened their doors countrywide.

Voting started at 84 polling stations at 06:00 am. 12, 244,683 citizens of Kazakhstan are eligible to participate in the vote in today’s referendum. 74 polling stations opened in 59 countries.

The primary question put to the vote is: "Do you agree with the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan?" Kazakhstanis will have the option of selecting either "Yes, I agree" or "No, I disagree." The ballots are written in two languages: Kazakh and Russian.
